McKinney National Airport
The McKinney National Airport was originally a grass airstrip once called Collin County Airport. The airport has undergone many expansions to accommodate the growth. The airport was renamed in the year 2000.
Attractions include Downtown McKinney which is just a few miles from the airport. Many cute shops, art galleries, and a wide selection of restaurants exist on the streets of Downtown McKinney. The Chestnut Square Historic Village is located in the heart of McKinney with a village that represents life in the 19th century. The museum consists of restored homes, a schoolhouse, a chapel, and more that you can tour. The Franconia Brewing Company is located near the airport and is family-owned. The brewery crafts German-style beer but uses traditional brewing methods. Beer lovers and visitors can book a tour of this facility to learn the brewing history and the process and sample the different beers.
