Embraer developed the EMB-120 to compete in the growing regional jet turboprop market. Many EMB-120’s were purchased by airlines in the U.S. due to their ability to fly higher and faster than competing regional turboprops. The EMB-120 is used mostly as a cargo aircraft with some uses for group charter. It is often used for sports teams, casino trips, group trips, and roadshows.
